Ottawa Little Theatre invites medium to host spirited discussion following select performances

OTTAWA , (Sept. 8, 2015) – The 103rd season of live theatre at Ottawa Little Theatre begins Sept. 15. Professional in style, traditional in tone, Ottawa Little Theatre has been a vital part of the Ottawa arts community for more than a century. This season offers nine outstanding plays representing the most dynamic line up in the company’s history. Featuring both contemporary and classic work, there’s something for everyone at OLT.

Noel Coward’s best-known comedy Blithe Spirit kicks things off on Tuesday, Sept. 15, at 7:30 p.m. In Blithe Spirit , a séance given by a not-altogether-competent medium goes awry and the spirit of Charles Condomine’s first wife Elvira returns to haunt him with designs on reclaiming her husband – much to the chagrin of his new wife. If he wants his latest marriage to stand a ghost of a chance, Charles had better conjure up a solution quickly!

Jim McNabb directs this vintage-funny play with a host of OLT all-stars including Heather Archibald as Elvira, Ian Stauffer as Charles Condomine, Sarah Hearn as Madame Arcati, and Dianna Renee York as Ruth Condomine.

Medium and Angel Reader Susan Barry-Howland will be on hand for a series of talk backs. Barry-Howland will lead a series of spirited discussions on our fascination with psychics and mediums in the 1920’s-40’s, and share some of her experiences. Talk Backs will take place following performances on Sept. 22 – 25 as well as 29, and 30.

Tickets are $25, $22 for seniors, and $12 for students, and can be purchased at ottawalittletheatre.com or by calling 613-233-8948.

All directors, actors, artists, and crew are volunteers – all work for the love of the theatre.
