With the 105th season coming to a close, it’s time to get the new season subscription process underway with a celebratory “season launch.” This year we are going a little more low-key, with the Act IV renovation complete we’ll applaud the upcoming season without the ribbon-cutting and speeches from the politicos and big donors.
Also given the changes on the governance and administrative side of the house, we have added on a “Town Hall” meeting to talk through the both management direction forward and the adjustments underway. We’re focused on high production values and more effective use of resources.
Members, volunteers and subscribers – you are cordially invited – Saturday afternoon 1:30pm on the 5th of May 2018 – the agenda includes:
- Season Launch
- the full Monty on our upcoming 106th Season
- Town Hall
- again the full Monty
As a backdrop, despite successes on stage, the theatre has had its struggles especially in recent years. It is an ongoing challenge to keep the facility in good shape both physically and financially. Even with the recent renovations, the facility will required continued care and renewal. Chronic operating losses over the last decade have depleted reserves. In recent years, our Boards of Directors have undertaken a number of initiatives to put the theatre on a sustainable track.
So let’s talk about it. The Town hall will include:
- situation assessment
- strategic review and strategic re-alignment
- reactions from the chairs of the various committees of the Board
- open and transparent discussions on issues and options
Please mark down the date, and RSVP to Jennifer Barkley (jennifer@ottawalittletheatre.com) so we can plan for a few munchies – It helps to have an idea of the numbers.
Hope to see you on March 5th!
Geoff Gruson,
President, Ottawa Little Theatre
