As a non-profit community theatre, the Ottawa Little Theatre relies on dedicated volunteers to donate time and skills to our productions. Our season is comprised of nine plays, each running for 14 performances, requiring over 50,000 volunteer hours per year. We are very grateful to those who volunteer their time and talent, and in return we offer a nurturing environment where you can learn about and experience the joy and rewards of live theatre.
Acting
We hold open auditions on a regular basis. Everyone is welcome to audition regardless of level of experience. To find out about upcoming auditions, please check the Audition section of this site regularly, and/or join our Facebook group to be notified when auditions are posted.
Backstage
Information and recruitment sessions are held at every audition for interested backstage and front-of-house volunteers. Just come to the audition and identify yourself to the organizers. Click on Volunteer Positions to see the list of available volunteer roles. Click on the ones that look interesting to you and check out the “job” description for more information. There are many different ways to become involved in a production.
Committees
Much of the work required for operating the OLT is done by committees which are described among the Volunteer Positions. If you would like to volunteer your time by joining a committee, come to an audition and identify yourself to the organizers.
