A continuation of Part I, this is a series of five classes designed to introduce the basics of acting to:

  • actors who have little stage experience and wish to learn the basic skills of acting,
  • writers who want to get inside a character’s mind
  • public speakers who wish to feel more comfortable in front of an audience
  • playgoers who want to learn how the actors do it

Acting exercises, activities and games will release the imagination, improve the participants awareness of self and others, engage the body, mind and voice to full expressiveness and give the confidence to enjoy taking risks.  Students will be introduced to improvisational techniques, the tricks of bringing a character to life from the pages of a script as well as hints for a successful audition for a play.

Prerequisites:

Some previous exposure to acting or theatre is recommended, but not required (i.e. Acting Fundamentals , another introductory class, acting workshop, or high school drama class, etc.)

Preparing for the Workshop:

No preparation required.  Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
