Readings of the Winners of OLT’s National One-Act Playwriting Competition

Two of the four winning plays are featured in this public reading. The second place winner is Always by Michaela Jeffery of Montreal, Quebec, about a modern day family living off the grid and an unexpected visitor. The third prize winner is Henry by Ron Fromstein which explores how one man faces a personal crisis.

Two of the four winning plays are featured in this public reading. The first place winner is Three Things by Peter Zednik of Vancouver, British Columbia.  A gay couple who have applied to adopt a child find their relationship complicated by an older woman who rents the garden suite in their home.  The winner of the Sybil Cooke Awards for a Play Written for Children or Young People is Eleanor Gabor by Ron Fromstein of Toronto, Ontario. This heartbreaking play examines a child’s first experience of death.
