The Workshop

On this date, the first meeting of the newly formed Workshop Group of the Ottawa Drama League took place. The Workshop was formed by Julia Murphy, Eric Stangroom and Michael Michaeljohn for people interested in acting, producing and designing experimental plays.

At this meeting, the first edition of the One-Act Playwriting Competition was announced. A prize of $5 was offered to any resident of Ottawa for the most playable one-act play. The Competition soon became national.
