EODL 1936 Regional Festival (one-act) and Dominion Drama Festival entries
These three one-act plays were performed at the Little Theatre prior to competing in Kingston on Feb. 27-29 as the ODL's entries into the Eastern Ontario Regional Drama Festival.
"The Vision at the Inn" was an original play written by Lady Tweedsmuir based "The Maid", a story by her husband Lord Tweedsmuir (John Buchan), Governor General of Canada.
Adjudicator Alan Bean selected "Christopher Bean" (in a version abridged by actor Howard Stannard) for first place honours, and "Winterset" won second place.
They were both subsequently performed at the Dominion Drama Festival hosted at the Little Theatre in Ottawa April 20-25, 1936.
