EODL 1933 Regional Festival (one-act) and Dominion Drama Festival entries
In order to allow the Ottawa public to see the Ottawa Drama League entries into the Eastern Ontario Drama Festival, these three one-act plays and another three on Feb. 21, were performed at the Little Theatre. The six productions went on to compete at the Festival in Kingston on Feb. 24 and 25 along with seven from other theatre groups to decide which would compete in the inaugural edition of the Dominion Drama Festival taking place at the Little Theatre April 24-29, 1933.
After assessing the 13 plays at the Kingston Festival, regional adjudicator Sterndale Bennett awarded 1st place to "Ile" and 2nd place to "Will Shakespeare", both by the ODL.
The adjudicator announced that he would ask the central committee of the festival in Ottawa to permit entry of the second place winner in the final although the rules of the competition allowed for only one representative of Eastern Ontario.
