Season 44 |
Jan 17 to Jan 19, 1957 |
This edition of the EODL Festival hosted at the Ottawa Little Theatre featured three one-act plays and three full-length plays over three evenings and a matinee. It was adjudicated by British actor and producer Cecil Bellamy.
The OLT entries were "Thieves' Carnival" performed on Jan. 17 (for cast and crew and award won see May 8-11, 1957), and "Pygmalion" performed on Jan. 19 (for cast and crew and awards won see Nov. 14-17, 1956).
The Festival was, with one exception, an "Ottawa show" as there had only been two out-of-town competitors and one of them had to withdraw. The French Canadian drama companies also withdrew from the competition.
