The Workshop - Winners of 23rd Canadian Playwriting Competition; EODL 1962 One-Act Play Festival entries
Mayor Charlotte Whitton presented the OLT Playwriting Competition awards to the three winning playwrights following the final performance on Saturday, Nov. 18.
"The Professionals" and "Cornflowers" were performed again on May 5, 1962, as the OLT entries into the Eastern Ontario Drama One-Act Play Festival held in Deep River (May 2-5). This marked the first year that the EODL separated the one-act and full-length festivals.
"The Professionals" by local playwright John Drewery won the Gladys Watt Trophy for Best Production of a Canadian Play, and his wife Joan Drewery won the Best Actress Award. The Best Director award went to Tibor Feheregyhazi for "Cornflowers".
