The Workshop - Winners of the 22nd Canadian Playwriting Competition; EODL 1961 Regional Festival (one-act) and One-Act Festival entries
"A Man for Mathilde" was presented again in Cobourg, ON, on March 18, 1961, as OLT's one-act entry into the Eastern Ontario Regional Drama League Festival. Playwright Basil Hutch was awarded the Kingston Cup for best production of a play by a Canadian.
Two months later, the Little Theatre hosted the EODL's first annual One-Act Play Festival from May 31 to June 3. Twelve plays were entered including the OLT's "Throw Sand Against the Wind" which was awarded Best Production of a Canadian Play and Best Supporting Actress (Joan Drewery).
