The Workshop; EODL 1957 Regional Festival entry (full-length)
"Pygmalion" was performed again as one of the OLT entries into the Eastern Ontario Regional Drama Festival hosted at the Ottawa Little Theatre from Jan. 17 to 19, 1957.
"Pygmalion" was awarded the Calvert Trophy for Best Production by British adjudicator Cecil Bellamy. It also won Best Actor (Roy Hayden-Hinsley) and Best Actress (Florence Fancott).
Its Best Production win made "Pygmalion" eligible for consideration as the EODL entry into the Dominion Drama Festival taking place in Edmonton in May 1957. Although the OLT Workshop was "quite optimistic" that it would be invited, "Pygmalion" was not one of the final eight chosen by Cecil Bellamy and the DDF executive in Toronto when they met to narrow down the winners from the 13 regions.
