The Workshop - Winners of 14th Canadian Playwriting Competition; EODL 1953 Regional Festival entry (one-act)
"Rise and Shine" was one of the OLT's entries into the 1953 Eastern Ontario Regional Drama Festival hosted at OLT from Jan. 13 to 17 where it was performed on Jan. 15.
Adjudicator John Allen awarded it the Fulford Shield for Best One-Act Play.
Three of these winning plays - "The Dream Unwinds", "The Line" and "Rise and Shine" - were produced by the Montreal Repertory Theatre's Studio on Feb 17, 1953.
