Season 34

EODL 1947 Regional Festival (full-length) and Dominion Drama Festival entry

This production of "Blithe Spirit" was repeated at the Little Theatre on February 24, 1947, in advance of its performance in Kingston on March 21 as the ODL's entry into the Eastern Ontario Regional Drama Festival (Mar 20-22, 1947).

Adjudicator E. G. Sterndale Bennett awarded "Blithe Spirit" Best Play, Best Actress (Amelia Hall), and the Kingston Trophy for Best Three-Act Play presented by Senator W. Rupert Davies. (It was the only entry in this category but was declared to be deserving, not just by default!)

As Best Play winner, "Blithe Spirit" was entered into the first Dominion Drama Festival since 1939 when World War II led to a seven-year hiatus. "Blithe Spirit" was the opening production of the festival in London, Ontario, from May 5 to 10, 1947.

The production won Honorable Mentions in acting for Amelia Hall and Daphné Thompson.
