The Workshop; EODL 1947 Regional Festival entries (one-act)

"Overlaid" was the winner of the 8th Canadian Playwriting Competition.

"Overlaid" and "Fumed Oak" were the Ottawa Drama League's one-act entries into the 1947 Eastern Ontario Regional Drama Festival held in Kingston on March 20-22. They were presented in preview on this date (Feb. 18) along with two other Ottawa entries: Philip Johnson's "Dark Brown" by the Carleton College Drama Class, and Gwendolyn Pharis's "Still Stands the House" by the RA Drama Group.

They were performed in Kingston on March 20, 1947, as part of the first Regional Drama Festival since 1939 before the war. Neither production won any awards, with the Best Play honours going to the ODL production of "Blithe Spirit" which went on to be performed in London at the Dominion Drama Festival in May.
