(OTTAWA) Aug. 3, 2016 – After conducting a rigorous hiring process with many qualified applicants, the Board of Directors at Ottawa Little Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Cate Proctor as the Theatre’s Managing Director. Cate commences her role September 12, 2016.
Born in Charlottetown, yet a former resident of Ottawa, Cate brings extensive experience from aspects of the performing arts to OLT. Her career path includes Executive Director of The Guild (an arts and cultural centre) in Charlottetown, Operations Manager and Producer for the East Coast Music Association, Events Officer/Program Coordinator for the City of Charlottetown and Communications Officer for the CBC.
She also worked as assistant director for CBC Charlottetown and as camera, audio and production assistant at Skyline Cablevision in Ottawa.
Cate earned her Executive Master of Business Administration at the University of Prince Edward Island and a Production Diploma from the Trebas Institute of Recording Arts in Ottawa. She has worked as a consultant to build the arts and cultural sector of Prince Edward Island, developing strategic plans for Music PEI, the visual arts sector, The City of Charlottetown, and has consulted directly with Culture PEI as former Vice-Chair and board member.
Her considerable community involvement includes community theatre actor, stage manager, fundraising committee member for the Canadian Mental Health Association, and board member of both the Institute of Architectural Studies and Conservation and Music PEI.
The OLT is most fortunate to gain Cate as its Managing Director. In addition to professional arts sector experience and talents, she brings maritime warmth and charm, an aptitude for working with people and a passion for the arts that match the OLT’s own values. Welcome aboard Cate!
