EODL Brunch & Awards Ceremony

The brunch & awards ceremony for the 2023 EODL (Eastern Ontario Drama League) Full-Length Play Festival was hosted by the Ottawa Little Theatre on Sunday, June 11.

The accomplishments of the OLT entry – Halfway There – were well recognized with 10 nominations, including:

Jennifer Barkley for Best Set Dressing and Props (with a special shout-out from the adjudicator for the pies)
Isabella Redgate for Best Costumes
David Magladry for Best Set Design
Kerry Wright for Best Cameo
Venetia Lawless for Best Female Actor in a Supporting Role
Chelsey Prince for Best Female Actor in a Lead Role
Best Canadian Play
Best Ensemble
Best Director
Best Production.

And we took home two of these – Best Ensemble and Best Production.

These two are our favourite awards, recognizing, as they do, the work and the accomplishments of the entire team.

Special shoutout and huge thanks to Linda Webster for coordinating the brunch. It was two years in the planning, including a change of year and change of venue, but she orchestrated it with poise and class.

Chris Ralph was the Master of Ceremonies; Kyle Fournier stage managed the awards portion of the brunch; Andrée Benson was official event photographer; Jeanne Gauthier, Elise O’Grady and Geoff Gruson helped with the décor, set up and anything else that needed doing; and finally Arlene Watson and Florence Moore welcomed our guests.

It was a full team effort that OLT can be proud of.
