The Ottawa Little Theatre production of Murder on the Orient Express was nominated for 11 awards and won four at the EODL (Eastern Ontario Drama League) Full-Length Play Festival Awards Brunch hosted April 28, 2024 by Northumberland Players in Cobourg, Ontario.
Lay McKay and Kyle Fournier won an Adjudicator’s Award for Outstanding Stage Management “of all those moving parts.”
Lindsay Laviolette and Venetia Lawless won Best Set Design for “form meets function; an engineering marvel”.
Kay Roberts, Ross Dumontet and Glynis Ellens won Best Costuming for “multiple period costumes in a variety of styles”.
Dave Demirkan as Hercule Poirot won Best Actor in a Major Role “for making it look effortless”.
In addition, OLT was nominated for Best Visual Presentation; Best Use of Speech “for mastering a multitude of accents”; Outstanding Ensemble; Acting Excellence for a Male in a Featured Role (Christian Giansante as Monsieur Bouc); Acting Excellent for a Female in a Featured Role (Sharon Bernbaum as Helen Hubbard); Best Director (Venetia Lawless and Lindsay Laviolette); and Best Production.
