Thanks to a lively wine-tasting evening at the Ottawa Little Theatre, the array of red and wine wines available at the bar on show nights will soon be refreshed, and a sparkling wine added!
On Saturday, May 4, a large and cheerful gathering participated in a blind wine tasting. Mystery wines – five reds, five whites and three sparkling wines – were tasted and ballots were filled and tallied. And in the end, the winners were:
Sparkling wine:
Blu Giovello Prosecco – Italy
White wines:
1st winner: Ruffino Orvieto – Italy
2nd winner – summer wine (May to September): Aveleda Vinho Verde – Portugal
2nd winner – winter wine (October to April): Tête de Lion Chenin Blanc – South Africa
Red wines:
1st winner: Robert Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon – USA
2nd winner: McGuigan Black Label Shiraz – Australia
The new wines will become available during the OLT’s current production of Stag and Doe on stage until May 25, if not immediately, then by the second week or so.
