Rehearsing and Performing at Ottawa Little Theatre
Ottawa Little Theatre has welcomed thousands of performers to the stage since 1913, and we continue to do so. Auditioning is the first step, but what happens if you get cast? You suddenly become very involved with OLT.
The following is an example of a typical rehearsal schedule. This is not specific to any one show.
First 3 – 4 weeks in the rehearsal hall:
Tuesday – Thursday – Sunday
Generally 7 pm to 10 pm
Next 4 – 5 weeks in the rehearsal hall:
Monday – Wednesday – Friday – Sunday
Generally 7 pm to 10 pm
2 weeks prior to opening on stage:
Sunday to Friday
Generally 7 pm to 10 pm
Sunday rehearsals are either at 7 pm or 2 pm.
Time off during the rehearsal period is at the discretion of the director.
The Run – three weeks on stage:
Wednesday to Saturday, call time 6:30 pm for 7:30 pm curtain.
There are two matinee performances on the first and second Sunday of each run.
Total of 14 performances.
There are no daytime rehearsals or performances from Monday to Saturday
As the theatre and all of our productions are run by volunteers, all rehearsals and performances take place in the evenings, with the exception of some Sunday afternoon rehearsals and Sunday matinees.
Performing at the Ottawa Little Theatre is a major three-month commitment. If you can’t be available for the full rehearsal and performance schedule, you should not audition.
