By becoming an Ottawa Little Theatre Sponsor, you play a very important role in a unique and distinguished theatre. For over a century Ottawa Little Theatre has been, and continues to be, a vital part of the Ottawa theatre community. The longest running community theatre in Canada, OLT started in 1913 as the Ottawa Drama League, founded by the University Women’s Club. In the decades that followed, it became the social hub of Ottawa society, sustained by dedicated patrons and legions of volunteers, including Ottawa luminaries, Governors General and ambassadors. In recent years, we depend on a large core of subscribers/patrons who ensure the sustainability of this Ottawa arts icon:
- producing nine regular season plays
- welcoming 40,000 to 50,000 patrons each season
- harnessing the efforts of over than 300 volunteers – donating ~75,000 hours on stage and in the wings each season
Although famous for high quality and award winning productions, the OLT has, for decades, attracted theatre students of all ages to drama camps and workshops. Our learning and training opportunities continue to be a programming focus.
We thank you sincerely for considering an investment in a theatre legacy, and for helping us “Put a Little Theatre in Everyone’s Life”.
