On Sunday Ottawa Little Theatre’s entry into the Eastern Ontario Drama League One-Act Play Festival, The False Neighbour by Step Taylor, received three awards.
David Magladry’s compact apartment set design, dressed by Kathy Piché and Jack Piché, earned the Penny Arril Award for best set.
Newfoundland-based playwright Step Taylor earned the Peterborough Theatre Guild Award for best new original Canadian Work. Taylor’s play was also a winner of OLT’s 74th National One-Act Playwriting competition.
Sarah McEwan picked up the Colin Mawson Award for Outstanding Contribution by a Student.
The production also earned three nominations. Sharron McGuirl was nominated for the Mae Carmichael Award for Acting, Josh Sparks was nominated for the Nepean Little Theatre Award for Acting, and the play was nominated for the Donald Endicott Award for Best Coordinated Production.
