Position: Theatre Props and Wardrobe Data Entry Assistant
Type: Fixed Term – 8 weeks (with possibility of extension based on the needs of the project.)
9 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday, 35hr/week
Starting Date: 4th July, 2016
Rate of Pay: $11.25 per hour
Responsible to: Reports to the Production Manager
Summary:
Ottawa Little Theatre is developing an exciting new on-line catalogue to better facilitate rentals of its extensive collection of costumes, furniture and props. We are looking for two self-motivated people with wardrobe and/or furniture and props knowledge and experience to populate the new data base with photos and key data.
Basic responsibilities:
- Removing furniture, props and wardrobe items from storage
- Photographing, sizing and entering relevant data into our new online rental catalogue database (some basic research maybe required)
- Returning items carefully and accurately to their place in storage
Requirements:
Interested applicants should:
- be willing and able to work independently with minimal supervision;
- be comfortable and proficient with computers and tablets
- have a working knowledge and skills in wardrobe (including measuring and sizing garments) and/or theatre props and furniture (including an ability to identify furniture types and styles); experience in both areas would be considered an asset
- willingness to learn and work in both areas is essential;
- willingness and ability to lift large furniture items is also essential (applicants will need to come equipped with CSA approved safety footwear (steel toed shoes/boots); other Personal Protective Equipment will be provided as needed)
- Experience/ aptitude working with databases and data entry
- Strong aptitude for organization, with attention to detail and accuracy being paramount
